I will be hosting what I call the "EE2 Mega Tournament" hopefully by August 16th.
Until then, we have over a month to get this thing set up.
In EE2 there are many different practiced and preferred settings that people play, and people tend to only play certain settings, therefore it is difficult to create a tournament that everyone can enjoy.
The simple solution is to provide a setting, a so called "Middle ground" that everyone is forced to adapt to, and deal with. This was my original idea.
Since then I have thought of a better idea.
There will be a maximum of
five games per match.
Two games in both player’s personal settings and a final tie breaker game (It is explained further down how the tie breaker game is decided)
Every tournament participant will get to select
three games out of the options at the very bottom of this topic to play during the tournament.
These
three settings will be the settings that you play during the tournament, until the very end.
Once you lose a game, you are removed from the tournament, and the winner goes on to the next phase of the tournament.
You must win 3 out of 5 games against the player you're playing against, to declare yourself victorious, and move on to the next phase of the tournament.
In the event of a tie, the closest tournament staff member watching the games will pick a number from one to 10, and ask both players playing to guess that number.
After both players guess, the person who guesses closest to the number without going over it gets to use his third setting as the tie breaker game.
In the event that both players guess over the number that was chosen, the number closest to the chosen number will be the winner.
Both players cannot guess the same number.
If the same number is used, who ever typed the number first, gets to use that number, the second person must guess a new number.
The person choosing the number is not allowed to tell anyone the number he has chosen, until after both the players playing in the tournament have guessed their numbers.
Each player gets to choose their own three settings that they want to play during the tournament.
You may not pick the same setting more than once.
You can only pick three different settings, settings of which you will be tied to throughout the entire tournament.
Each player gets a maximum of five fair games.
The first player to win three out of those five games wins the game against that player, and moves on to the next phase of the tournament.
There will be no "Rematch", each player gets
five fair games, (two games out of the settings that they picked, and two games in the settings that the person they're playing against has picked, and a final tie breaker of nobody has won
three games yet)
Global rules are: No cheating of any kind, no hacking, no glitching, no spy glitch, nothing un-fair of any kind.
You can choose whatever civilization you want except for random civilization.
Random civilization is not allowed in the tournament, because it turns the game into a game of luck, which can easily cost someone the game.
Some settings have setting specific rules that must be followed.
All rules will be made clear at the beginning of each game.
If you break a rule, you are removed from the tournament by default.
Each player will post three times that he/she will be available to play during the tournament; times will be synchronized, and set up accordingly so that every player is guaranteed to play.
If a player does not post times that he/she is available to play, before the tournament starts, that player is removed from the tournament.
If a player misses a game that he/she has scheduled a time for three times in a row, he/she is removed from the tournament.
If a player for some reason cannot play, and has not already started the tournament process; he/she will be switched with another player in that player’s current tournament phase that has also not started the tournament process for that phase.
There will be a minimum of two observers per game.
Both observers must be certified by an oO clan member as fit to observe, before being able to observe.
As an observer, you must post results of the tournament here on the forums, every game.
There will be a topic for every player, where the game results are posted.
The topic for the matchups will happen even before the tournament has started, so that both players can agree on times that they are available to play.
Remember, you must also set up a time where a certified observer can watch your game.
After three games are won, that topic will be locked.
Global settings that must be in every tournament game, that cannot be changed are as follows:
Resources: Low
On Player Exit: Remove
Citizens: 10
Locked Teams
Game Speed: Fast
Reveal Map: Explored
City Pop: 60
Geography: Plains

(Fast Pace)(Tiny/Small Map) Epoch: R-R (Rules: None)
You are not forced to choose any rules, the rules up here are only suggestions for what rules you might want to have for that epoch, if you want any rules.
If a rule you want isn't up there, but you still want to use it, remember that you can use any rule from this list for any setting if you want:
No Spies
No Nuke
No Multi-Scout-Rush
No Rams
No Crowns
No Boxing (When you take more than three terrs on tiny map before the other person has three terrs)
No Horses
For example: "(Fast Pace)(Tiny/Small Map) Epoch: R-R (Rules: None)" doesn't have any rules, but if you want to add rules, lets say you want no spies or nukes, you can just add to it: "(Fast Pace)(Tiny/Small Map) Epoch: R-R (Rules: No Spies, No Nukes)"
If you understand the rules, and agree to the terms and conditions above, you may enter in the tournament.
If you wish to participate in the tournament, you must create an account on our forums, post a thread in this section containing your in game name in the topic, and the settings that you would like to play in the tourney, in the thread.
I will create an example thread for you to follow as a guide line.
________________
To sign up for the tournament, simply create a new thread like this:
I'll pretend my name is SuperduperEE2Player44332
My Subject will be "SuperduperEE2Player44332"
And my Message body will be
"Hi, I'd like to sign up for the EE2 tournament, my name is SuperduperEE2Player44332, and the sets I choose are:
(Fast Pace)(Tiny/Small Map) Epoch: 15-15 (Rules: None)
(Medium Pace)(Tiny Map) Epoch: 3-3 (Rules: No Rams)
(Fast Pace)(Tiny/Small Map) Epoch: 1-15 Inca war (Rules: Both players must choose Inca as their civilization)"
_____________
One week before the tournament starts is when we will start confirming times when people can play, and start setting up games for the tournament.
Until then, just tell everyone you know about this website, (www.oOClan.tk), and about this tournament, and get everyone to sign up for it, so that this can be the greatest EE2 tournament ever!
After this tournament, more good, exciting, fun, and unique tournaments will follow.
Maybe even tournaments for specific settings alone, like bab war, or 5-5, or even r-r, etc.
It all starts with this EE2 Mega Tournament.
It's up to you to make it happen, my humble, EE2 Community.
